Shopify CSV Import Preflight

Prevent damaged products, variants and inventory: have your Shopify product CSV checked before you import it.

A Shopify import can “succeed” and still do silent damage: variants disappear, blank cells overwrite existing data, SKUs collide, prices land at 0.00 and images fail to load. An import cannot be cancelled and has no undo button. The Shopify CSV Import Preflight is an offline check of your file by Jithox, with a clear report before you click “Import”.

What is included

• One product CSV per order (max. 15 MB / approx. 10,000 rows), checked for: column headers, handles, titles, options and variant structure, SKUs, prices, inventory fields, image URLs, duplicate rows and dangerous blank values that overwrite existing data.
• A report (Markdown + JSON) with BLOCKING, WARNING and UNKNOWN findings — each with row number, column and recommended action. UNKNOWN covers what can only be verified against your live store, which we do not access.
• Where possible, one safely corrected copy of your CSV containing only mechanical corrections (whitespace, decimal commas, currency symbols, capitalisation of true/false/status values, exact duplicate rows) plus a changelog.
• One rerun included, after your decisions on identity changes (handles, options, SKUs).
• A short plain-language summary: what happens if you import the original file now, and what needs to happen first.

What you provide

• Only your Shopify product CSV (the import file, or an export from Products → Export).
• Four answers: creating new products or updating existing ones? Is “Overwrite products with matching handles” ticked? One or several locations? Which problem do you expect?
• Recommended for updates: a fresh export of your current products, so handles and variants can be compared.
• No customer, order or payment data. Files containing such data are deleted unread.

Delivery

Report within one business day (Mon–Fri, CET) after receipt of a valid file. Acknowledgement within two hours on business days.

Privacy and deletion

Your file is processed locally and offline, is not shared with third parties and is deleted within seven days of delivery (sooner on request). You receive a deletion confirmation. We never ask for login details and Jithox does not import anything into the customer’s store.

Limitations

• This is a diagnosis and preflight of your file; there is no guarantee that Shopify will accept the file or any future import.
• We do not import, do not log in and have no API access to your store.
• Without an accompanying export, the comparison with your live catalogue remains UNKNOWN.
• Not included: inventory, customer or order CSVs; Matrixify/Excelify formats; variant metafields (not supported by Shopify’s CSV import); writing product copy or prices; hosting or repairing images.
• Pilot: the first three pilots are paid at this price; one file per order.
